Let’s face it. Getting ready for the day is a thing we all do whether we are working full-time, work from home, or are mommies at home. We all have to go out at some point and spend some time in front of the mirror, making sure we don’t leave the house with bed head and dark circles.
Ever since I was little, I always loved makeup. I loved going over and getting ready for church with a total diva, my late grandma. She would paint my nails, blush my cheeks, and add a little lipstick. This is how my love for makeup grew and grew.
Now, I get ready pretty much every day whether for work or church. Weekday mornings are so rushed so, I love getting ready on the weekends when I can really take my time and enjoy putting on my makeup!
Today, I am inviting you into my makeup bag and sharing some of my ultimate favorites with you! It is time to spring clean that make-up bag and update with real products that won’t disappoint! Pinkie Promise!
1. Tarte BB Tinted Moisturizer
I use this everyday! I absolutely would be lost without it! I discovered Tarte at Sephora when I was looking for wedding makeup. Tarte is a natural, Amazon clay that doesn’t clog pores or leave an icky residue. I also love it because it absorbs oils throughout the day to give your face a fresh, matte look all day! I use this as a foundation! Plus is has 20SPF so, you are set with a foundation, moisturizer, and sunscreen all in one! Makes it easy for busy mornings!
2. Naked Palette – Urban Decay
I also splurged and purchased the original Naked Palette when I was shopping for wedding makeup! I still have it and use it! I love it! It is a little spendy when you compare to Walmart eyeshadows, but it is way better quality, plus it lasts forever! I love all the different color combos you can make. It is great from casual to a smokey eye look.
I encourage everyone to go out and buy expensive mascara at least once in your life! This beauty runs about $23, but it is so worth it! I got it once from Sephora as a sample and bought it after. I use it for special occasions or the occasional date night. It does not clump and does not flake. I confess, I use Walmart mascara everyday (which I will share next), but sometimes, it is fun to pamper those lashes!

4. Colorful Blush – Sephora
This is my favorite blush of all time! Not only will it not break the bank but it is long lasting! Sephora carries several other colors that will match up to your skin tone. This blush even has a hint of sparkle for a perfectly and romantic blushed look!
5. Rouge Shine Lipstick – Sephora Collection
This is another product I use pretty much everyday. I love a good nude, light pink lipstick. I personally use Color No. 3 – Tenderness. It is a beautiful nude pink and is long lasting.
6. Colorful Eyeshadow – Glitter – The Sephora Collection
I also love this shadow. It is a great little touch for under brows or the corners. The greatest part?! It is so shimmery and glittery!! Your eyes will totally light up and shine in any lighting. It is beautiful! I personally have a few different shades, but my faves are Color No. 70 – Fortune Cookie and Color No. 45 – Girl Talk.
7. Retractable Brow Pencil – Sephora Collection
Just this year, I grew my eyebrows out. Thin, barely there brows are not cute and they do nothing for your face. Having thicker, but still shaped brows better frame your beautiful face and that is what they are there for! Here is the perfect guide on shaping your eyebrows:
8. LipLiner Pencil – Marc Jacobs
This liner feels like silk going on and lasts all day! I love a great nude lip liner. You can wear it with any color and still gets the job done. Why outline your lips? They appear softer and have cleaner lines. It also stops bleeding of darker lipsticks. Plus is adds volume. It just looks better overall!
9. Make-Up Setting Spray – Urban Decay
This stuff is magic! I tend to have oiler skin and this stuff is my final step in putting on make-up! Just mist a little over your face and it keeps your face from getting oily plus, it keeps your make-up fresh all day! No need to carry those oil blotting sheets anymore! I also found this when shopping for wedding makeup. I literally use this everyday! I would be lost without it!
I know, I know make-up brushes are expensive!! Buy a good set right away that way you aren’t buying new brushes every few months because all the bristles fell out. You’ll save money on buying a good quality set the first time, you won’t have to buy another for many years! Sephora (as you can tell I am obsessed with it), has a great variety of brushes with a variety of price ranges. If you haven’t, I recommend buying a set, you won’t regret it! Promise!
